Embracing Every Role : Celebrating The Power Of Women
Raden Ajeng Kartini, better known as Kartini, was an Indonesian national hero born in 1879. She was known for her steadfast struggle for women's rights, education, and gender equality in the early 20th century. The Kartini struggle at the time was very important, especially in a cultural context that is still thick with patriarchal traditions. She challenged social norms that restricted women, fought for their rights to education on an equal footing with men, and opposed practices such as adultery and polygamy.
The legacy of Kartini's struggle remains alive and relevant to this day. Although much progress has been made in the fight for women's rights, there are still many challenges facing women in the modern era.Women's struggle in this era now faces a variety of complex dynamics. They continue to fight for gender equality in various fields, including education, careers, and social life.
In the dynamics of everyday life, many of us play multiple roles, sometimes even three roles at once. One of them is Yuni, an employee of Buana Triarta who lives the roles of a worker, wife, and mother. In this interview, Yuni shares her unique experience and the challenges she faces in the three roles.
In Buana Yuni has a position as supervisor in the finance and accounting department. This role brings its own challenges, especially as the market is fluctuating up and down. "Sometimes, when the market is unfriendly and many deadline projects collide, it is difficult to arrange payment of debt to vendors," said Yuni.
However, Yuni didn't just give up in the face of this challenge. He found a solution by being smart when negotiating with vendors. "I learned to talk openly to vendors about the situation that the company is facing. I also reminded the sales team to help remind buyers," he added.
Yuni says her role as a female worker has a positive impact on her. In addition to helping the economy for her family, this role also gives her the opportunity to update herself, and social interaction in the workplace can be one of the most effective ways to reduce stress, give a sense of satisfaction, and broaden the network of relationships.
In her role as a wife, she felt it was important to keep her husband's support and attention. However, with a tight schedule at work, she sometimes found it difficult to spend quality time with her husband. "Sometimes I feel less attentive to her husband," she said honestly.
However, Yuni believes that good communication between her and her husband is the key to maintaining harmony in the household. "We always strive to communicate openly about everything, including our respective busyness. It helps us to stay connected even though we both have a tight schedule," she added.
As a mother, Yuni felt that her responsibility became greater. Maintaining the happiness and well-being of her children is a top priority. "I've always tried to provide time for the children, although sometimes it's very challenging with some roles I have to play."
For Yuni, facing the challenge of playing three roles at once is not an easy thing. However, with a strong determination and commitment, he believes that everything can be overcome. "Every role I play has meaning and invaluable value. I feel called to give the best in every aspect of my life," she said. Despite the challenges faced, Yuni is a real example of a woman's strength, endurance, and perseverance in the face of a dynamic life.
In further discussions with Yuni, he was proud to share his feelings about the double roles played and the changes experienced by our company. In spite of the challenges faced, Yuni was proud and happy to carry out his three roles with enthusiasm. One of the things that makes Yuni so grateful is the changes that have taken place in her working environment, especially with regard to the facilitiesoffered by the company. "This is an extraordinary change for us, women workers in Buana. Especially for me personally, who used to have difficulty pumping milk at work," she said with a smile.
Yuni revealed that before there was this clinic and lactation room, she had to find an empty room or a quiet enough place to pump milk. Even though there was one moment when pumping in the empty room, her milk spilled out of fear of somebody staring at her face. It sometimes becomes an extra burden for Yuni in the midst of her busy work. However, with this new facility, Yuni feels relieved and helped. "Now, female workers can pump comfortably and without interruption in the special space provided by the company. It's very helpful and reduces stress while working," he said.
More than just providing comfort, these facilities also give hope to Yuni and the other women workers in Buana. Yuni hoped that in the future, the company would continue to expand and improve facilities that support women workers like him. "I hope Buana will continue to innovate and pay attention to our needs as women workers. Hopefully, one day, we will have more facilities that support us in playing our dual role more comfortably and smoothly," he said.
Through Yuni's story, we can see how important the company's role in providing facilities that support women workers is. Facilities such as clinics and lactation rooms are not only a luxury but also an investment in employee well-being and productivity. May Yuni's story be an inspiration for other companies to care more and pay attention to the needs of their employees, especially the women who carry out their dual roles with dedication and enthusiasm.
